A once-in-a-lifetime dining experience to appreciate the bounty of the seasons

As an adopted project of the Japan Tourism Agency's "Creation of Attractive Stay Contents to Attract Customers and Diversify" *1 demonstration project, private "Farm & Dining" hands-on gastronomy events will be held. The farm owner, who is also a chef, and his wife, will devise and cook an original course meal just for you where you will be able to enjoy seasonal vegetables, herbs, and local cuisine at the farm.

The unique story connecting Japan's soul food "rice" is realized together with local sake and beer. In addition to the harvesting and cooking experience, you can encounter the rich and slow life on the farm, including an herb tea session where you can relish 10 kinds of "Japanese peppermint".

"Gokeiji Omachi" is the local sake, carefully brewed at Aoki Sake Brewery, the only sake brewery in Koga. (Winner of the 2019 Sake Competition Special Prize, nominated for JAL First Class.) You can enjoy a sake brewery tour and seasonal sake tasting at the height of the new sake season.

For the tableware, we collaborated with HARIO, a domestic heat-resistant glass manufacturer with its only factory located in Koga, and will offer glasses paired with sake, herbal tea from a siphon, and mint water extracted from an aromatic distiller for a relaxing and fragrant experience.

At the end of the trip, you can enjoy shopping for specialty souvenirs and having a cup of coffee at Sakacho, a multi-purpose facility located within a beautiful stone storehouse from the Edo period. This is a special experience that can only be found in Koga, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Last year, this program was highly evaluated by Les Clefs d'Or Japan *2 and has been adopted as an activity for guests of a five-star hotel in Tokyo.
